Nine Mile Point gets new head

OSWEGO — The Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station in Oswego has a new leader.

Constellation Energy Nuclear Group (CENG) announced yesterday that Christopher Costanzo will serve as site vice president at the facility. Costanzo had been serving as plant general manager at the company’s Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant in Maryland.

He had been in that post since August 2011.

“I am pleased to have the ability to tap into the vast experience that Chris Costanzo brings to the fleet,” Maria Korsnick, chief nuclear officer at CENG, said in a news release. “Throughout his career he’s built great teams and run efficient operations and will be a welcomed complement to the Nine Mile Point leadership.”

CENG is a joint venture between subsidiaries of Exelon Corp. (NYSE: EXC) and Electricite de France, SA. The company owns and operates five nuclear reactors at three sites in New York and Maryland.
