VESTAL, N.Y. — The 14th annual Binghamton Symposium on Health Care Management and Policy will discuss the future of the Affordable Care Act and other topics.

The symposium is set for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 10, in room 1011 of the Center of Excellence, in the Innovation Technologies Complex at 85 Murray Hill Road in Vestal. It’s open to the public.

This year’s symposium theme is “Affordable Care Act: Retrospect and Future of US Healthcare.” A number of “distinguished” guests will discuss the future of Obamacare in the U.S., and what that future holds for health care in New York state, according to a Binghamton University news release. Eight symposium sessions (including a luncheon) feature health-care professionals, hospital administrators, insurance company executives, public officials, representatives from nonprofit organizations, and private citizens as speakers.

There will also be a session on health care for senior citizens and children, as well as a session on private health-care insurance and information systems.

Registration is $50, and includes lunch. For Binghamton University faculty, staff, and graduate students, the cost is $20. To register, email Manas Chatterji at mchatter@binghamton.edu. It’s also possible to register the day of the event, starting at 8:30 a.m.
