ALBANY, N.Y. — The New York Credit Union Association (NYCUA) announced it has appointed Kendra C.J. Rubin as its VP of governmental affairs. Monday was her first day with the association.

Rubin, an attorney, most recently served in the New York Department of Health as deputy director of the Bureau of Program Counsel. She has also held various roles in the executive chamber under Gov. Andrew Cuomo, where was director of appointments, assistant counsel to the governor, and special assistant to the governor for briefing, NYCUA said in a news release.

Rubin graduated from Albany Law School in 2012. She holds a bachelor’s degree in communication and rhetoric from the University at Albany.

NYCUA is the trade association for New York’s credit unions, which have more than 5 million memberships.
