ONONDAGA, N.Y. — Onondaga Community College (OCC) is working with two local employers that have openings for jobs that may require worker training.
Stickley Furniture and PPC Broadband, Inc. have immediate openings for CNC machinists and toolmakers. Workers are needed for a total of six to eight positions, OCC said in a news release.
To fill those needs, the companies are working with OCC’s Office of Economic and Workforce Development on a paid-training program. The training will run from January to April.
Training will be held on the OCC campus. Participants will earn $12 per hour during training. The pay will increase to $14 an hour once the training is complete.
An information session is scheduled for Dec. 16 from 6-9 p.m. in Storer Auditorium on the OCC campus. Those planning to attend are asked to register in advance at https://www.sunyocc.edu/apprentice-paid-training.
