BINGHAMTON, N.Y. — Olum’s of Binghamton has announced the appointment of Anthony C. Stevens as merchandising director.

He had experience in a family-owned furniture business serving the Ithaca area for more than 35 years before joining Olum’s in 2016 as an upholstery and bedding buyer.

Most recently, Stevens has been responsible for the development and implementation of Olum’s new Go2sleep Galleries in the Vestal and North Syracuse (town of Salina) stores, according to a company news release. He has also worked closely with manufacturers to develop and produce its Go2sleep line of mattresses, pillows, and bedding accessories.

In his new position, Stevens will oversee the merchandise-buying operations for all Olum’s locations, the release stated.

Olum’s is an employee-owned furniture, appliance, and electronics retailer that operates two stores in the Greater Binghamton area (Vestal and Johnson City), as well as Olum’s Furniture, Appliances and Sleep Center in the Northern Lights Plaza in Salina and Olum’s Appliances on Bridge Street in DeWitt. The company dates back to 1914.
