ONEIDA, N.Y. — Oneida County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a contractor from the town of Vienna Wednesday, charging him with grand larceny for failing to complete construction work.
Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol said in a release that his department’s Criminal Investigation Unit arrested Michael J. West, 49, of Vienna.
The release said that between Dec. 7, 2015 and April 3, 2018, West was paid $70,000 for work that he was supposed to complete as part of a construction contract on property located on Rome-New London Road in the City of Rome.

According to the release, “at no time was any work completed by Michael J. West’s construction company, which was known to be Exodus Group.”
West was processed at the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office and held in Oneida County Correctional Facility pending arraignment.
