UTICA, N.Y. — Oneida County on Friday reported the following COVID-19 numbers, which continued the improving trend.  

  • 23 new positive cases, 21,694 total (down from 37 last Friday)
  • 311 active positive cases (well below 410 a week ago)
  • 1 new COVID-19-related death, 421 total (3 deaths in the last week)
  • 5 patients are hospitalized in Oneida County (down from 7 a week prior)
    • 4 at MVHS
    • 1 at Rome Health
  • 4 residents are hospitalized outside the county (it was 5 last Friday)
  • 20,962 positive cases have been resolved
  • 752,066 total negative results
  • 773,760 total tests
  • 311 in mandatory isolation
  • 652 in mandatory quarantine

More than 100,000 Oneida County residents (100,385) have now received at least one dose of a COVID vaccine, according to New York’s vaccine-tracker website, as of 11 a.m., Friday. That equates to 43.7 percent of the total population and 54.6 percent of adults.
