UTICA, N.Y. — The Oneida County government is providing weekly drive-thru COVID-19 testing through Precision Clinical Laboratories at Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona and Utica National Insurance Group in New Hartford.

Both test sites are open to the public and no appointments are necessary. The PCR test, collected and processed by Precision, is a self-administered nasal swab. Results are usually available within 24 hours. Tests are free with most insurance providers, and the cost is $125 for those without insurance.

The test site at Turning Stone began operations Jan. 18 at 5218 Patrick Road in Verona and is open every Monday and Tuesday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Vehicles should enter from the Patrick Road entrance near the SavOn convenience store. Signage is in place to direct people.

The Utica National Insurance Group test site at 180 Genesee St. in New Hartford opens Wednesday, Jan. 19, and is open every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Vehicles should enter from Genesee Street.

“Oneida County has been working diligently to add more COVID-19 testing opportunities in more areas of the county as often as possible,” Oneida County Executive Anthony J. Picente, Jr. said in a news release. “Testing has become an essential component of the Omicron variant surge, and we will continue to provide as many options as we can to keep our residents healthy and safe.”

Oneida County also partnered with Precision Clinical Laboratories on Jan. 12 to test 180 county residents at a drive-thru event held at Hart’s Hill Inn in Whitesboro.
