Oneida County reports 16th COVID-19 death

UTICA, N.Y. — Oneida County on Tuesday reported its 16th COVID-19 death.

It was the county’s fifth death from the dangerous disease in the last four days. It previously announced one death on Monday and three on Saturday.

On Tuesday, Oneida County reported 10 new coronavirus infections, bringing the county’s total to 388. That’s up from Monday’s five new cases, but down from the 20 new infections recorded on Sunday.

Of the 388 positive cases, 24 patients are hospitalized in Oneida County and three are in hospitals outside the county.

The county says 155 people have recovered from the virus, to date.

Health-care workers have conducted 2,991 tests, with 183 results pending and 2,420 negative results.

The county also reports 571 people are under mandatory quarantine, 540 are under precautionary quarantine, and 3,282 have been discharged from mandatory and precautionary quarantine.
