Oneida County reports 22 new COVID-19 cases

UTICA, N.Y. — Oneida County on Wednesday reported 22 new COVID-19 cases to bring the total to 1,584.

The county also noted that “upon further investigation,” one positive case was removed from Tuesday’s total. The new cases include four nursing-home residents.

Oneida County did not report any deaths from COVID-19 on Wednesday, so the county’s death toll from the disease remains at 91.

Of the 1,584 cases, 29 patients are hospitalized in Oneida County, including 26 at the Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS) and three are at Rome Memorial Hospital (RMH). Six people are admitted outside the county.

Of the patients hospitalized in Oneida County, 19 are nursing-home residents receiving acute care, including 17 at MVHS and two at RMH.

Oneida County’s Wednesday report also indicates that the county has 322 active positive cases and that 1,171 people have recovered from COVID-19.

In addition, health-care workers have conducted 48,400 tests, with 46,816 negative results.

The county also reports 346 people are under mandatory quarantine, 141 are under precautionary quarantine, and 12,427 have been discharged from mandatory and precautionary quarantine.
