Oneida County reports deadliest day yet with four COVID-19 deaths

UTICA, N.Y. — Oneida County on Thursday reported four COVID-19 deaths, bringing its total to 27.

It’s the most deaths reported in the county in one day since the pandemic started, eclipsing three deaths on a couple prior days in late April.

Oneida County also gave out the following statistics, in addition to the four deaths.

  • 19 new positive virus cases, 699 total
  • 25 patients are hospitalized in Oneida County
  • 3 are admitted in hospitals outside of Oneida County
  • 310 active positive cases
  • 362 virus recoveries
  • 5,575 total tests have been conducted
  • 161 test results are pending
  • 4,715 total negative results
  • 860 people are under mandatory quarantine
  • 972 are in precautionary quarantine
  • 6,084 people have been discharged from mandatory and precautionary quarantine
