Oneida County reports one COVID-19 death, recent virus exposures

UTICA, N.Y. — Oneida County officials on Thursday reported that the county had one new COVID-19-related death in the last day, bringing its total to 128 since the pandemic started.

County officials announced recent potential public exposures to the coronavirus at Texas Roadhouse in New Hartford and North Star Orchards in Westmoreland on Oct. 4, Tops Market and Joan’s Diner on Oct. 2, as well as several other area public places.

Oneida County also reported the following coronavirus statistics on Thursday:

  • 10 new positive cases, 2,499 total
  • 94 active positive cases (up from 86 on Wednesday)
  • 4 patients are hospitalized in Oneida County (all at MVHS), down 1 from yesterday
  • 2,277 infected people have recovered, up 1 from Wednesday
  • 165,983 total negative results
  • 168,482 total tests have been conducted
  • 94 in mandatory isolation, up 8 from a day prior
  • 718 in mandatory quarantine, up from 698 yesterday

The county’s infection rate was 0.35 percent in the last day, with 10 positives out of 2,883 total tests.
