Oneida County reports one new COVID-19 death, slight rise in hospitalizations

UTICA, N.Y. — Oneida County on Tuesday reported one new COVID-19-related death, bringing its total to 149.

County officials also said 76 people are hospitalized in Oneida County with the illness (58 at MVHS and 18 at Rome Memorial). That’s up from 73 on Monday. Another 6 county residents are currently hospitalized outside of Oneida County, down 1 from the day before.

Hospitalizations have been steadily rising in Oneida County for the last month as the virus spreads in the county, region, and state. Back on Nov. 2, just 14 patients were in Oneida County hospitals with COVID-19.

The full rundown of the county’s other coronavirus statistics for Tuesday follows:

  • 148 new positive cases, 5,102 total* (Upon further investigation, 4 positive cases were removed from the previous total.)
  • 1,726 active positive cases
  • 3,227 people have recovered from the virus
  • 297,543 total negative results
  • 302,645 total tests
  • 1,726 in mandatory isolation
  • 1,151 in mandatory quarantine
