Oneida County’s active coronavirus cases continue to fall

UTICA, N.Y. — Oneida County on Monday announced just three new coronavirus cases in the last day, continuing the recent trend of relatively low daily numbers of new infections.

The county had three virus cases on Sunday and 12 on Saturday. The slowdown in new infections, coupled with continuing recoveries, has dropped Oneida County’s number of active cases down to just 106. That’s down from 208 active cases just eight days ago.

Oneida County also reported the following COVID-19 statistics on Monday:

  • The 3 new virus cases bring the county’s total to 2,123
  • 0 new COVID-19-related deaths, 116 total
  • 10 coronavirus patients are hospitalized in Oneida County (9 at MVHS, 1 at Rome Memorial)
  • No patients are hospitalized outside Oneida County
  • 3 hospitalized patients in the county are nursing-home residents receiving acute care (all 3 at MVHS)
  • 1,901 people with the virus have recovered
  • 81,664 total tests have been conducted.
  • 79,541 total negative results
  • 106 people are in mandatory isolation
  • 1,068 are in mandatory quarantine

The county’s infection rate was 0.66 percent in the last day with three positives out of 455 total tests.
