UTICA, N.Y. — Oneida County on Tuesday reported that 52 county residents are currently hospitalized with COVID-19, up from 30 just eight days earlier as active infections continue to increase across the region.
The county said 40 of the hospitalized people are unvaccinated, while the other 12 were vaccinated but still became sick. Eleven of the hospitalized are in intensive care (9 unvaccinated and 2 vaccinated).
Breaking out the hospitalizations by facility, 37 are at MVHS, 9 are at Rome Health, and 6 are in hospitals outside Oneida County.
