CHITTENANGO, N.Y. — The Oneida Indian Nation has started work on what it calls “an extensive upgrade project” at the Yellow Brick Road Casino in Chittenango.

Updates to the 60,000-square-foot gaming venue will include a redesign of the venue’s exterior. The redesign will target the casino’s façade, along with interior renovations, such as “fresh” décor and new dining and bar options.

The Oneida Nation announced plans for the project on the anniversary of its opening, per a news release posted on its website dated June 4. The Nation didn’t disclose a dollar figure for the project cost.

Renovations will also involve upgrades to its gaming activities, including the addition of the Lounge with Caesars Sports, a new sportsbook.

“It has been wonderful to see Yellow Brick Road Casino reinvigorate Chittenango’s Emerald Plaza and be embraced by both the local community and visitors alike,” Ray Halbritter, Nation Enterprises CEO and Oneida Indian Nation representative, contended in the release. “Our success has not come from resting on our laurels, but rather continually striving to improve the guest experience by anticipating future needs and always exceeding expectations. These investments in Yellow Brick Road Casino and Chittenango will fulfill our commitment to creating and maintaining state-of-the-art properties that deliver fun and excitement for our guests.”

The Oneida Nation expects crews to complete the renovation project by late summer. It also anticipates “minimal” impact on current operations.
