SYLVAN BEACH, N.Y. — The Oneida Indian Nation on Monday opened the Lake House at Sylvan Beach, its newest gaming, dining, and entertainment venue.
The Lake House features 100 slot machines, indoor and outdoor lakefront dining options, and an “expansive” patio, the Oneida Nation announced. Guests must be 18 years old or older to enter the property.
Ray Halbritter, Oneida Nation Representative and Nation Enterprises CEO; Anthony Picente, Jr., Oneida County Executive; Greg Lancette, president of the Central/Northern Building Trades; and Greg Horan, Mayor of Sylvan Beach, all attended the morning formal-opening event.
Safety protocols
The Lake House will follow the same “Safer Together” protocols as all Oneida Indian Nation casinos.
Those protocols include mandatory face coverings for employees, customers, and vendors wherever feasible. When face coverings for guests are not feasible, physical distancing and limited occupancy will be enforced.
In addition, gloves are required for all employees who are working in direct contact with customers.
The protocols also include daily, non-invasive contactless temperature checks for all employees and brief survey questions to identify potential exposure to coronavirus.
In addition, the Oneida Nation is also restricting access for guests traveling from any of the 31 states and two countries identified as having increased cases.
The protocols also include screening of all customers and employees entering the properties. Anyone traveling from one of restricted states or countries will not be permitted to enter.
All guests ordering alcoholic beverages must also purchase an accompanying food item with the initial drink or drinks.
The Oneida Nation says it is also using “enhanced” cleaning measures. They include new technology that alerts customers with an on-screen notification of the exact time the slot machine was last sanitized. Also, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) air changeover levels will be maintained at “significantly greater” capacity and will exceed those required by the standard commercial code.
The Lake House will also have touchless hand-sanitizer dispensers placed at every guest entry point and throughout the property.
