Oneida Nation hires first director of sports book operations, seeks to fill 60 more positions

VERONA, N.Y. —The Oneida Indian Nation announced Monday it has named Justin Arnett its first director of sports book operations.

Arnett, a Las Vegas sports betting veteran, will oversee the sports books at all three of the Oneida Nation’s Central New York gaming venues — Turning Stone in Verona, Point Place Casino near Bridgeport, and Yellow Brick Road Casino in Chittenango.

Arnett most recently managed daily operations of the race and sports books at The Venetian, The Palazzo, and inside Lagasse’s Stadium in Las Vegas, the Oneida Nation said in a news release. He previously worked on the sports book teams at the Hard Rock Casino Hotel & Casino Las Vegas, the M Resort, The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, and the Gold Coast Hotel & Casino.

In addition to the new sports book director, the Oneida Indian Nation also opened its search for candidates to fill more than 60 positions on its new sports book team, which include additional managerial roles and “numerous” full- and part-time jobs. Positions to support the sports book operations across all three casinos include sports book managers and supervisors, ticket writers, bartenders, beverage servers, cooks, line cooks and food runners.

The Nation announced earlier this year it would be partnering with Caesars Entertainment to bring “The Lounge with Caesars Sports” to all its casinos. The new sport books are slated to open at Turning Stone and Point Place this summer, with Yellow Brick Road opening later, as part of a larger renovation project announced last week.
