SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The Onondaga County Health Department on Thursday announced the county’s seventh COVID-19 death.
It said the individual was a white male in his late 50s who had underlying health conditions and had been hospitalized. For reasons of medical privacy, the department will not be releasing additional information.
“Again, our thoughts and prayers are with everyone in the process, but especially with the families of those who have lost loved ones,” Onondaga County Executive Ryan McMahon said in his Thursday coronavirus briefing at the Oncenter.
Onondaga County now has 442 COVID-19 cases, up by 20 from 422 cases on Wednesday, according to McMahon. The county says 43 people are currently in the hospital with the disease, up by two from the day prior. Of those, 23 patients are in critical condition, up one from Wednesday.
McMahon also noted that 154 people have recovered and been released from mandatory isolation and quarantine.
