FULTON, N.Y. — Following a nationwide search, the Fulton Family YMCA is hiring as its new CEO a woman with roots in Oswego County.

Shonna Sargent, regional program director of a branch of the YMCA of Greater Louisville, is a graduate of Altmar-Parish-Williamstown school district. She earned a bachelor’s degree from SUNY Cortland and her master’s degree from SUNY Oswego.

“We are thrilled to be able to hire a leader of Shonna’s quality, particularly given her local roots. We believe she will lead us to our goals of growing the Fulton Family YMCA while making it an invaluable community resource,” Kelly Niccoli, president of the Fulton Family YMCA’s board of directors, said in a news release.

In addition to her experience in Louisville, Kentucky, Sargent has served as program director at the Family Y of Greater Augusta in Georgia.
