OSWEGO, N.Y. — The Oswego Health system announced that Jason Santiago has joined as vice president and chief operating officer (COO) of its skilled-nursing affiliate, The Manor at Seneca Hill.

Santiago, who joined Oswego Health on Aug. 12, has experience as an administrator of both a skilled-nursing home and an assisted-living facility.

“Jason not only brings to The Manor the business and operational skills this position requires, but he also possesses compassion for our senior citizens and others who receive care at The Manor,” Oswego Health President and CEO Ann C. Gilpin said in a news release.

Santiago most recently served as the administrator at Camillus Ridge Terrace, an assisted-living facility in Camillus. In this role, he established a quality-assurance program, increased occupancy, and established strong relationships with residents and staff, the news release stated. Previously, Santiago was the assistant administrator at the Auburn Nursing Home, where he also earned his administrator’s license.

In addition to his administrator experience, Santiago has a strong financial background, as he held the position of treasury analyst at the Chubb Corporation in Warren, N.J. He holds a master’s degree in public administration in health-services management from Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry and graduated from the Dale Carnegie management and leadership training program, according to the release.

Santiago has replaced longtime Manor at Seneca Hill VP and COO Maureen Annal, who stepped down from the position to spend more time with her family, Oswego Health said in the release.

Santiago is a native of New York City. He and his wife, who is from the Syracuse area, have three young children.
