RICHFIELD SPRINGS, N.Y. — New York State Police announced on Friday that they recently arrested Crystal G. Ray, age 38 of Richfield Springs, for the felonies of 1st degree identity theft and two counts of 4th degree grand larceny.
She was also charged with the misdemeanor of 3rd degree unlawful possession of personal identification.
Troopers say they received a report in November about fraudulent charges on a debit card. Investigators determined that Ray, who was paid to assist the victim at the person’s home, obtained the debit-card information unlawfully. Ray is accused of spending more than $2,300 using the victim’s card information.
Ray was arrested on Jan. 8, processed, and arraigned at Otsego County Central Arraignment and Processing. She was released on her own recognizance, State Police say.
