PAR Technology unit wins $85M Army contract, largest in company history

NEW HARTFORD — PAR Government Systems Corp., a unit of PAR Technology Corp. (NYSE: PAR), announced today that it has won an $85 million defense contract from the U.S. Army.

Under the contract, the largest in company history, PAR Government will provide technology integration work for advanced intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) applications.

The three-year pact is through the U.S. Army Contracting Command/Aberdeen Proving Ground (ACC/APG) Natick Contracting Division, in support of U.S. soldiers and coalition partners, the company said.

“PAR is pleased to have been selected to provide advanced ISR solutions in response to urgent mission needs. We pride ourselves on customer satisfaction and understand the critical role we play in supporting our operational customers with transition and integration of emerging state of the art technology in support their requirements,” Steve Lynch, PAR Government’s president, said in a news release.

PAR Technology, which also provides software and hardware to the hospitality industry including customers such as McDonald’s and KFC, employs about 1,400 people total. That includes about 400 in Central New York. PAR says it will report its third-quarter earnings on the morning of Oct. 30.
