UTICA — Paradigm Consulting, Inc., a local, independent advisory firm, will formally mark the opening of its new office in the Utica Business Park with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on April 4.

Greater Utica Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Pamela G. Matt and  Paradigm Consulting staff, family, and friends will be on hand for the celebration at 10 a.m. at 133 Business Park Drive, according to a chamber news release.

Paradigm’s principals, Laurie A. Schoen and Amy L. Mielnicki, have been in business since 1989. Today, Paradigm is a boutique advisory firm that offers personal investment advice, individual retirement-income options, group retirement-plan consulting, human-resources services and strategies, and employee-benefits services.

Schoen and Mielnicki bought the former bank-branch building in the Utica Business Park and gutted the interior of the 4,500-square-foot structure, before moving Paradigm there last November.

Paradigm Consulting was formerly located at 2717 Genesee St. in an office in which it ran out of space, according to Schoen.

The firm currently employs 15 people, and is looking to eventually grow to 20 to 25 workers.
