SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Grossman St. Amour CPAs PLLC announced that Christopher R. Alger recently returned to the accounting firm, following nearly four years away, working for a pair of area universities.
Alger began his career with Grossman St. Amour in 2008, after completing the summer internship program. He spent nearly eight years with the Syracuse–based firm before leaving in early 2016 to become controller at Clarkson University. Alger then joined Cornell University in 2018 as director of financial operations, before coming back to Grossman St. Amour last fall, per his LinkedIn profile.
Alger practices in the areas of audit and attest engagements, financial-statement preparation, fraud examination and deterrence, and internal-control review. He serves clients within the not-for-profit, employee-benefit plan, governmental, commercial for-profit, and health care industries.
Alger is a certified public accountant in New York and a certified fraud examiner. He is a graduate of the University at Buffalo with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and concentration in registered accounting.
