WARSAW, N.Y. — Five Star Bank, a subsidiary of Financial Institutions, Inc. (NASDAQ: FISI), announced that it has hired Adolph Barclift as its chief information security officer (CISO).
As CISO, Barclift serves as subject-matter expert responsible for the development and delivery of a comprehensive information and cybersecurity program, ensuring that information is protected from external and internal threats. He also oversees compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements regarding information access, security, and privacy, the banking company said.
Barclift previously served as CISO for the Financial Services Division of NCR and in information-security positions with Fannie Mae and Metris Companies, a major bankcard issuer later acquired by HSBC.

Barclift earned a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of Minnesota.
Five Star Bank, based in Warsaw in Wyoming County, has more than 45 branches throughout Western and Central New York. Its CNY branches include offices in Auburn, Seneca Falls, Geneva, Ovid, Horseheads, and Elmira.
Financial Institutions and its subsidiaries employ about 630 people. The banking company generated $23.4 million in net income in the first nine months of 2020, down from nearly $34.7 million in the year-ago period.
