ITHACA, N.Y. — The School of Hotel Administration (SHA) at Cornell University announced that Cheryl Boyer is the new president of the Cornell Hotel Society (CHS) for 2017.
Boyer will lead the executive board of CHS, the 88-year-old alumni association that represents SHA graduates in more than 53 active chapters worldwide. Boyer’s 12-month term as president began Jan. 1, the school said in a news release.
A 1987 graduate of SHA, Boyer has more than 25 years of experience in providing consulting and asset management services to institutional investors, lenders, and other “key hospitality-industry players.” She started her career in hotel operations working with InterContinental Hotels and Accor, has additional consulting experience with Landauer Associates and Laventhol & Horwath, and has since held senior leadership roles with Lodging Advisors, PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Hospitality & Leisure financial advisory practice, and Hotel Partners, Inc., the release stated.

Boyer is currently the chief operating officer of Fulcrum Hospitality, a boutique operating partner, asset manager, and transaction advisor in the lodging and gaming industry. The firm has principal investments in hospitality assets, maintains acquisitions relationships with major investment banks and institutional private equity firms, and asset manages or advises on more than 10,000 hotel rooms worldwide, per the release.
Boyer is a member of the Cornell University Council, membership co-chair of the President’s Council of Cornell Women, and has returned to campus to serve as a guest lecturer.
