People news: Camden Family Care adds Donaldson as nurse practitioner

CAMDEN, N.Y. — Jessica Donaldson, a nurse practitioner, has joined the staff of Camden Family Care, Rome Memorial Hospital (RMH) announced.

Donaldson brings more than 10 years of experience in health care, including more than eight years working as a nurse in emergency and critical care settings, RMH said in a news release.

Donaldson earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Utica College and her master’s degree as a family nurse practitioner from Le Moyne College.

She says she became a nurse practitioner because she saw a great need for primary care providers. “In my work in acute care, I have seen the results of a lack of primary care and it really gives me a great perspective,” Donaldson said in the release. “I now have the opportunity to help patients be proactive in their care, become accountable and follow through on their healthcare plans which hopefully helps them become healthier and avoid unnecessary hospitalizations.”

Donaldson has volunteered as an emergency medical technician with the nearby Vienna Volunteer Fire Department since 2009.

Camden Family Care is located at 5 Masonic Ave. in Camden.
