People news: Capella joins Fust Charles Chambers accounting firm as partner

DeWITT, N.Y. — Fust Charles Chambers LLP, a DeWitt–based accounting firm, announced that Patrick A. Capella, CPA has recently joined as a partner.

Capella comes aboard as a tax partner with experience at large regional accounting firms and a national firm, according to a Fust Charles Chambers news release. His experience includes providing tax planning, consulting, and compliance services to a wide range of domestic and multinational corporations, as well as significant experience auditing and consulting on tax matters related to accounting for income taxes.

Capella most recently worked at Mengel, Metzger, Barr & Co. LLP in the Rochester area as a tax principal, according to his LinkedIn profile. Before that, he worked at PwC for seven years in roles including senior tax manager, tax manager, and senior tax accountant. Prior to that firm, Capella was a senior tax accountant at Freed Maxick CPAs, P.C. in the Buffalo area, per his profile.

Capella received his bachelor’s degree in accounting from SUNY Fredonia and his master’s in accounting, with a focus on taxation, from the University at Buffalo.

Fust Charles Chambers is a professional-services firm providing accounting, audit, tax, and advisory services to businesses, nonprofit organizations, and individual clients. It is headquartered at 5784 Widewaters Pkwy in DeWitt.

Capella resides in Fairport in the Rochester area and serves as a member of the finance committee at Irondequoit Country Club.
