People news: CNY Arts announces new board members

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — CNY Arts, Inc. announced it has appointed Kristy Brightman Frame, Daniel Hammer, Adam McGivern, Lisa Clark-Sova, and Daria Willis to its board of directors.

CNY Arts says it is a regional arts council serving six counties and providing more than $1.5 million in funding that supports artists and arts, cultural, and heritage organizations.

Kristy Brightman Frame is an attorney at Bond, Schoeneck & King, PLLC, where she focuses her practice on real property law, representing an array of clients, including financial institutions, individuals, higher-education institutions, and for-profit and not-for-profit corporations.

Daniel Hammer is deputy director of purchasing with the Onondaga County government. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Oswego State University, a master’s degree in education from National Louis University, and a master’s degree in public administration from Syracuse University. Hammer is also a board member with Housing Visions Unlimited and a member of the Onondaga Citizens League.

Adam McGivern has been executive director of the Cortland Downtown Partnership and Cortland Business Innovation Center since 2008. He attended the University of New Orleans and graduated with a master’s degree in public administration. McGivern also spent two years in the Peace Corps developing environmental education curricula for students from grade schools to universities.

Lisa Clark-Sova is business development manager at Canale Insurance and Accounting, LLC. She has 30 years of accounting and tax experience. Originally from Dallas, Texas, Sova earned her finance and accounting degree from Baylor University. 

Daria Willis, Ph.D. is the new provost and senior VP for academic affairs at Onondaga Community College (OCC). She comes to OCC from Lee College in Baytown, Texas, where she served as dean of academic studies. Willis earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Florida A&M University and a doctorate from Florida State University.
