People news: Community Bank appoints Tom Harding to Central Region Advisory Board

DeWITT, N.Y. — Community Bank N.A. recently appointed Tom Harding, owner and president of Harding Brooks Insurance Agency in Vestal, to serve on its Central Region Advisory Board.

Harding will provide advice and counsel to senior management in Community Bank’s Central Region market area.

“Tom’s knowledge of the businesses and business needs of the Central New York marketplace will be valuable in helping us expand our loan, deposit, benefit plan and wealth management portfolios,” Joseph E. Sutaris, senior vice president and regional banking executive for Community Bank’s Central New York Region, said in a news release. “We are in a relationship business, and Tom’s success as an entrepreneur in the service industry provides an excellent foundation for serving on the Bank’s Central Region Advisory Board.”

Harding holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Hobart College and has served as a licensed insurance professional for more than 24 years in the Greater Binghamton and Syracuse markets. His insurance agency has an office in Salina, in addition to its main office in Vestal.

Community Bank, based in DeWitt, has more than 180 branches across upstate New York and northeastern Pennsylvania.
