DeWITT, N.Y. — Community Bank System, Inc. (NYSE: CBU) announced the hiring of Joseph Pedrotti as vice president of commercial banking for the Central New York region.

 Pedrotti will be providing commercial-banking products and services for businesses located in and around Central New York, the banking company said in a news release.

 He has more than 30 years of banking experience, the release stated. Pedrotti was most recently a vice president with KeyBank’s Syracuse office for the last three-plus years, according to his LinkedIn page. Before that, Pedrotti was a vice president with M&T Bank in Syracuse from 2000 to 2011, the page shows.

Pedrotti has a bachelor’s degree in business management from Columbia College and an associate degree in business administration from Onondaga Community College, according to the news release. He is active in several community agencies including the Solvay Lions Club, Syracuse Auto Dealers Association, Longhouse Council Boys Scouts of America Executive Board, and West Genesee Pop Warner.

Headquartered in DeWitt, Community Bank System has $7.4 billion in assets and more than 190 branches throughout Upstate and Central New York, and Pennsylvania. The company’s banking subsidiary is Community Bank, N.A. Its other business units include Benefit Plans Administrative Services, Inc., the CBNA Insurance Agency, Community Investment Services, Inc., and Nottingham Advisors.
