SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The Central New York Community Foundation, Inc. has hired Liz Hartman as controller.

Hartman is responsible for the foundation’s operational and financial reporting, according to a news release the organization issued Thursday.

She graduated from Syracuse University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in fashion design with a minor in retail management, and an MBA degree in accounting.

Prior to joining the Community Foundation, Hartman was an audit associate at Fust Charles Chambers LLP, an accounting firm based in DeWitt.

Established in 1927, the Central New York Community Foundation says it is the largest charitable foundation in the region with assets of more than $172 million.

The foundation, which operates at 431 E. Fayette St. in Syracuse, awarded $9.5 million in grants last year to nonprofit organizations and has invested nearly $130 million in the community since its inception, according to its news release.
