People news: Community Foundation hires program manager

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The Central New York Community Foundation announced it has hired Colby Cyrus as program manager.

In this role, Cyrus will assist with the development, implementation, and monitoring of grantmaking and programs. He works with the Community Foundation’s community grant program and affiliate funds in Onondaga, Madison, Cayuga, and Oswego counties.

Cyrus, who speaks both French and Arabic, previously worked at InterFaith Works and has experience in international development, advocacy, and survey research. He holds a master’s degree in international relations from Syracuse University.

The Central New York Community Foundation is a public charity, established in 1927, that manages contributions from donors and distributes funding to local charities. It has assets of more than $366 million and says it has invested more than $230 million in community improvement projects since its inception.
