People news: DoubleTree by Hilton Syracuse promotes Connolly to director of sales and marketing

DeWITT, N.Y. — DoubleTree by Hilton Syracuse, a 250-room hotel near Carrier Circle, announced it has promoted Kevin Connolly to director of sales and marketing.

In this position, Connolly will work with the hotel’s finance, sales, and revenue management teams, and be responsible for developing and implementing procedures and strategies that support the hotel’s guest relations and profitability goals.

“Kevin has the drive and industry experience that we were looking for when vetting individuals for this management position,” DoubleTree by Hilton Syracuse General Manager Thomas Olsen said in a news release. “His vast knowledge of the DoubleTree by Hilton Syracuse brand, coupled with his ability to successfully utilize data and market research, makes him the best candidate for this position.”

Connolly previously served as the manager of business travel at DoubleTree by Hilton Syracuse, where he was responsible for managing corporate preferred travel programs and consortia with a focus on increasing the volume of business accounts. His previous positions before DoubleTree included VP of global sales and account management at The Travel Team, Inc., corporate business development and Ithaca branch operations manager at AAA Western and Central New York, and sales manager at Syracuse.com and several airlines, per the release.

Connolly graduated from Syracuse University in 1987 with a bachelor degree in advertising.
