GENEVA, N.Y. — Finger Lakes Health (FLH) has announced the appointment of Nicole Magnera as its new long-term care assistant administrator.

Prior to joining FLH, Magnera was director of nutrition systems for Morrison Healthcare at Monroe Community Hospital in Rochester, where she received most of her long-term care experience.

Finger Lakes Health says it provides long-term care services at four facilities. Its facilities include Living Center at Geneva-North, Living Center at Geneva-South, Huntington Living Center in Waterloo, and The Homestead in Penn Yan.

Magnera will support William Garrity, VP of long-term care, with regulatory compliance, performance improvement, and operations, according to an FLH news release. Her responsibilities include working with staff on developing quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) committees and performance-improvement projects. In addition, she will assist the four long-term care facilities with daily operations and compliance and protocols associated with New York State Department of Health and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) guidelines.

Magnera received her nursing-home administration certification from SUNY Oswego. She earned a master’s degree in environmental sciences, with an emphasis in human nutrition, from the University of Alabama and her bachelor’s degree in dietetics from the University of Kentucky. She is currently working on becoming a licensed nursing home administrator.
