SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Brian Gerling recently joined Barclay Damon as of counsel in the law firm’s trademarks, copyrights & intellectual-property (IP) transactions and IP litigation practice areas and cybersecurity team. His primary office location is Syracuse.
Gerling has nearly two decades of IP and commercial-litigation experience, the firm said in a release. He represents a variety of technology clients from startups to well-established companies in matters involving IP commercialization, protection, preservation, and, if needed, litigation. In addition to his legal practice, Gerling is the executive director of the Innovation Law Center at the Syracuse University College of Law. In this role, he oversees the center’s applied learning course — the Innovation Law Practicum. He is also an adjunct professor at the Syracuse College of Law, where he teaches IP and technology law courses.
