People news: Grossman St. Amour CPAs hires supervisor in tax services group

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Grossman St. Amour CPAs announced it has added Maria C. Gersbacher, CPA as a supervisor in its tax services group.

The firm says Gersbacher brings substantial experience in the areas of individual, corporate and partnership taxation, audit and attest engagements, financial-statement preparation, and bookkeeping. Her industry areas of focus include medical practices, restaurants, retail, and small-business clients.

Gersbacher has a strong background in both public and private accounting sectors, having served in supervisory roles in previous positions, Grossman St. Amour said in a news release.

Gersbacher’s previous jobs include serving as head of accounting services at David G Prusinowski CPA; owner of her own firm, Maria C Gersbacher CPA Accounting & Bookkeeping Services; controller at Syracuse Label and Surround Printing; and controller at Hofmann Sausage Co., LLC, according to her LinkedIn profile.

She is a graduate of Le Moyne College with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a minor in management information systems.

A CPA firm located in Central New York for more than 65 years, Grossman St. Amour provides businesses and individuals with accounting, audit, taxation, business planning and valuation, financial planning, fraud examination and deterrence, and peer-review services.
