People news: Hedge joins Tompkins Financial Advisors

ITHACA, N.Y. — Tompkins Financial Advisors announced it has hired Ithaca native Matthew Hedge as assistant VP and wealth advisor.

In this role, Hedge is responsible for building and maintaining client relationships as well as creating wealth plans and financial strategies for clients.

Prior to joining Tompkins Financial Advisors, Hedge served as VP at BNY Mellon. He is currently preparing for the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) series 7 and 66 exams to further his skill set in securities.

“Matthew has spent the last 15 years within the financial planning industry and will be an invaluable asset to the company, as well as his team members,” Jennifer Green, VP and managing director for the region, said in a news release. “We know he’ll continue to grow in this leadership position.”

Hedge graduated from Cornell University with a bachelor’s degree in applied economics and management. He is an annual participant in the Racker Rivals Big Red charity hockey game.
