People news: Herkimer College appoints Luppino as assistant director of campus safety

HERKIMER, N.Y. — Herkimer College announced it has named Martin Luppino assistant director of campus safety.

Luppino will assist the college’s director of campus safety in supervising public safety personnel, enforcing rules, regulations and laws, and ensuring the safety of students, faculty, staff and visitors, the college said in a news release.

He most recently worked at the Oneida Nation Police Department as a police officer where he protected the members and property of the Oneida Indian Nation. Luppino is a retired Herkimer police officer and has worked as a school resource officer at Herkimer County BOCES.

Luppino is a New York State certified police officer by the New York State Department of Criminal Justice Services and a certified federal police officer by the Federal Bureau of Indian Affairs.
