HERKIMER, N.Y. — Herkimer County Community College announced it has hired Kira Maddox, of Whitesboro, as a public relations assistant.

She will be responsible for assisting with planning, developing, and implementing initiatives to support the college’s public relations, communications, and marketing plans.

Maddox was previously a digital content and community manager with Syracuse New Times/All Times Publishing. She also has been a reporter with Advance Media in Syracuse.

Maddox holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Ithaca College, where she served as editor-in-chief for the Ithacan newspaper. She also holds a Social Media for Business certificate from Mohawk Valley Community College.
