HORSEHEADS, N.Y. — Hunt Engineers, Architects, & Land Surveyors, P.C. has promoted Kim Abbott, director of finance, to a principal position at the firm.

She joined Hunt in 1986 in the accounting department under then-manager Larry Cook. Abbott worked closely with Cook and the firm’s founder, Robert W. Abbott’s responsibilities include all day-to-day accounting functions, corporate financials, audit functions, and human-resources benefits. Abbott’s achievements and expertise include both guiding Hunt through the integration and utilization of project management software that allows complete connection of data for reporting, online time and expense sheets, as well as health-care benefits, the release stated.

Hunt Engineers, Architects, & Land Surveyors is headquartered in Horseheads and has two other branches in Rochester and Towanda, Pa. The firm was founded in 1973 as a sole proprietorship and developed into a multidiscipline design firm with a diversified portfolio that includes projects of varying sizes across the public and private sectors.
