ROME, N.Y. — Indium Corp. announced it has appointed Michael Schmitt as production supervisor.
Based at Indium’s Rome facility, Schmitt is responsible for the oversight of several onsite production processes and the scheduling and management of employees. He also works with other departments to ensure product quality, meet on-time shipping requirements, and implement continuous improvement efforts, according to an Indium news release.
Prior to joining Indium, Schmitt was an outside sales representative for Fastenal, a national provider of fasteners, tools, and supplies. He has many years of experience in the aerospace industry, working at General Dynamics (an American–based multinational aerospace and defense corporation) and the U.S. Air Force, where he was responsible for production control/plans and scheduling. Schmitt earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from SUNY Polytechnic Institute.
