People news: Irene Kabunduh joins Bousquet Holstein

Kabunduh is a dual citizen of the U.S. and Uganda.

Prior to joining Bousquet Holstein, she served as a volunteer attorney at the Volunteer Lawyers Project of Onondaga, Inc. providing eviction defense to low-income families at Syracuse Landlord & Tenant Court and also provided additional information regarding other agencies offering free legal and non-legal services to low-income families.

Kabunduh served as summer intern in the Community Counsel Project of the Legal Services of Central New York. She researched community initiatives addressing low-income community needs; i.e., rural transportation, employments and access to City health-care services, access to lead-poisoning resources, prepared legal briefs, and booklets disseminated to tenants in city neighborhoods, and organized community initiative meetings in different neighborhoods. She also worked with young adults with mental and development disabilities at Elmcrest.inc.

Kabunduh is a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in Kentucky and South Korea. Her education includes degrees from the Syracuse University College of Law; Chicago-Kent College of Law; the Law Development Center in Uganda; and the University of Dar Es Salaam School of Law in Tanzania.
