People news: Ithaca/Tompkins County CVB hires Coleman as VP of tourism

ITHACA, N.Y. — The Ithaca/Tompkins County Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB), a division of the Tompkins County Chamber of Commerce, announced that it has hired Peggy Coleman as its new VP of tourism and community relations.

She brings more than 29 years of “demonstrated success” in destination marketing to the Ithaca/Tompkins County CVB team, the organization said in a news release. Coleman most recently was president of the Steuben County Conference and Visitors Bureau in Corning.

Coleman will lead the Ithaca/Tompkins County CVB team to develop and deploy an integrated strategic marketing plan, a comprehensive visitor-services program, and increase group tourism as well as meeting and conference business to Ithaca and Tompkins County.

“I am excited to join this talented team to market the unique visitor assets of Tompkins County. My goal is to share the stories of Ithaca and Tompkins County with the world, and to invite visitors to experience our destination in every season.” Coleman said in the release.
