People news: Laboratory Alliance names Graber lab medical director

SALINA, N.Y. — Laboratory Alliance of Central New York, LLC has appointed Dr. Michael Graber as medical director of its largest laboratory, located in Salina.

The lab is part of the firm’s operations center at the Electronics Business Park.

Graber started work in his new role for Laboratory Alliance on Feb. 1, Anne Marie Mullin, company CEO, said in a news release about the appointment issued March 4.

Graber has been affiliated with Laboratory Alliance since 2001, having most recently served as assistant medical advisor of transfusion services. He also previously was assistant medical director of the firm’s rapid response laboratory at Upstate University Hospital’s Community campus.

Besides his new role as the operations center’s medical director, Graber will continue to practice anatomic pathology at the Community campus rapid response laboratory.

Graber, who also works for Onondaga Hill Pathology, P.C., serves as a staff pathologist at Upstate’s Community campus, Laboratory Alliance said.

Graber follows Dr. Michael O’Leary in the medical director’s role at Laboratory Alliance.

O’Leary, who retired as CEO of Laboratory Alliance in December, had also been serving in a dual role as the organization’s medical director.

O’Leary will remain with the company as assistant director of the operations center laboratory through March 31, the company said.
