People news: LaGatta joins SUNY Poly as assistant VP for development

UTICA, N.Y. — Andrea LaGatta has joined SUNY Polytechnic Institute (SUNY Poly) as assistant VP for development, the university announced.

In this role, she will lead all “philanthropic and relationship” building programs and activities at both SUNY Poly’s Utica and Albany campuses, per a SUNY Poly news release. LaGatta will be tasked with developing and implementing a fundraising program focused on increasing endowments, gifts, and donors.

LaGatta brings more than 30 years of experience in all aspects of development, including major giving, annual giving, special events, grants, and stewardship. She has served as director of development at St. Elizabeth Medical Center/Mohawk Valley Health System in Utica, and before that worked in the foundation office at Faxton St. Luke’s Healthcare in Utica.

LaGatta holds a bachelor’s degree from SUNY Empire State College and an associate degree from Mohawk Valley Community College.
