People news: MVCC appoints Wallace as associate director of human resources

UTICA, N.Y. — Mohawk Valley Community College (MVCC) has appointed Nancy Wallace as its new associate director of human resources. She has more than 10 years experience in human resources at SUNYIT.

Wallace’s responsibilities will include implementing human-resources processes and procedures, contributing to departmental initiatives, and enhancing communications to employees, the college said in a news release.

Wallace spent six years in SUNYIT’s human resources office and steadily progressed from assistant, to associate, and finally assistant director. There, she managed appointments, interpreted, and administered SUNY policies of the board of trustees and collective- bargaining agreements, oversaw recruitment and employment activities, and maintained the department website, among other duties, the release stated.

Wallace also spent two years teaching upper-level human-resources management classes at SUNYIT.

She is a member of the SUNY Human Resources Association and the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources. Wallace holds an MBA in technology management with a human-resources management concentration from SUNYIT, and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Utica College.
