UTICA, N.Y. — Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS) has announced John Lynch as its new vice president and chief information officer.

Mohawk Valley Health System serves as the parent organization for Faxton St. Luke’s Healthcare and St. Elizabeth Medical Center.

In this role, Lynch coordinates and manages the use of technology to increase information accessibility and integrated systems throughout MVHS, the organization said in a news release.

Prior to this position, Lynch previously served in a similar role at Greater Hudson Valley Health System in Middletown and at Provena Health (now Presence Health) in Mokena, Ill., according to the news release.

After graduating from the Massachusetts Maritime Academy in Buzzards Bay, Mass., Lynch then served in the U.S. Merchant Marine and in the U.S. Navy Reserve, according to MVHS.

Lynch is a member of the Chicago, Ill.–based American College of Health Care Executives (ACHE) and the Ann Arbor, Mich.–based College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME), the news release said.
