UTICA, N.Y. — NBT Bank announced it has added two new employees to its Utica Financial Center.

Michael Cowan joined the bank as VP and commercial banking relationship manager, while Matthew E. Dziedzic is the new assistant VP and senior business banking officer.

Cowan is responsible for working closely with commercial customers in the Mohawk Valley to help them find the right financial solutions to help enhance their businesses. He comes to NBT with 19 years of financial experience, including 12 years in commercial banking. He holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from SUNY Polytechnic Institute.

Dziedzic works with small-business owners in the Mohawk Valley and Syracuse markets to identify products and services to help them meet their business goals. He has more than 10 years of banking experience including branch management and business banking. Dziedzic also ran his own insurance agency over the past decade. He holds an associate degree in business management from SUNY Morrisville and a bachelor’s degree in finance with a minor in economics from SUNY Polytechnic Institute.

NBT’s Utica Financial Center is one of 140 branch locations in New York, Pennsylvania, Vermont, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, and Connecticut. The bank will add 14 more branches when it finalizes its acquisition of Connecticut–based Salisbury Bank and Trust Company. Parent company NBT Bancorp (NASDAQ: NBTB) has total assets of $11.84 million as of March 31, and also operates EPIC Retirement Plan Services and NBT Insurance Agency, LLC.
